A mix of several rhythms, soltinho is an extremely fun style of dance, and is flexible enough to dance to music such as swing, foxtrot, cha cha cha and others whilst maintaining a massively Brazilian influence over the actual dance movement.

It’s very simple to learn, and if you already dance any of the above styles this would make picking up the basics especially easy.

Exactly when soltinho started in Brazil is not very well known, but it begun to become one of the prominent Brazilian styles in the 80s, and just recently has experienced a new surge in popularity.

There is no music style called soltinho, which is one of the reasons this dance can be danced with a large variety of music.
